Ahhh...Day 28. If this were Feruary I would have already been running for a month.
Congratulations Greenville High Alum, Nathan Pepper for scoring the second td of your career on Saturday against Ole Miss. If Pepper makes it to the NFL which is not at all unlikely he will be the second guy from my senior season's high school defense to make it to the league. The first was David Jones who now plays for the Cincinnatti Bengals.
Congratulations Jake van Kooten of British Columbia for setting a new California record at the Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin and Harvest Festival with your giant pumpkin weighing in at 1,536.5 pounds!!! That'll make alotta pumpkin pie!!
"Zach wake up...It's 8:00." What? Where am I? Have I traveled back in time to High School? No, its just mamma giving me deja vu in the form of a wake up call reminding me to go run. I wanted to get in an early morning run today and she was kind enough to oblige. I threw on the same thing I've been wearing for the last 2 days and hit the streets of Linkside Phase 3 for a morning jog. It's chilly and there is alot of dew. Greenville is a wet place but also green, like Ireland. I ran around the neighborhood and began to feel soreness. There are alot of hills in Greenville. It is located in the Piedmont region of the state which in Cherokee actually means "foot hill." You can usually see the mighty smokey mountains from my hood, but today it was to foggy. This hilly topography is beautiful, but it makes running harder. I spit on the hills as I conquered them one by one and in the end I vanquished the landscape while covering 1.9 miles. Hills are my bitch.
I got in the car and made my way back to the beach. On the way I stopped at the ole ATO house to use the restroom. This gave me a chance to speak to tenured keeper of cleanliness, Juanna. We spoke Spanish for a while and then I departed. "Adios mamma cita. Me encanta."
I arrived at the beach and completed 55 push-ups. Go Cocks!
